I'm extremely honoured and excited to be offered an opportunity to research the permanent collection of the Art Gallery of South Australia through the Guildhouse Collections Project. Over the next few months my investigations will lead to the production of works which will be displayed within the art gallery.
I'm very happy to say that I have won the 2016 Emma Hack Art Prize; an acquisitive art prize supporting South Australian artists. My painting Apostle addressed the competition theme of "identity" using signifiers of Australiana, childhood, nature and the sublime.
My solo show Sell Out opens at FELTspace Gallery in the Adelaide CBD on the 5th of May. Sell Out is an exhibition that explores how and why (or why not) we value artwork and the way that I measure the success of my own work. 54 works ranging from gold point drawings, video installations and large scale oils all investigate various aspects of this theme. In addition to the works themselves there is a performative aspect to the exhibition as rather than works being individually priced and available for purchase, participating viewers will pay $40 and then be randomly assigned any one of the works. Modus Operandi: bingo turner.
The works I created for the Arkaba Hotel will be auctioned off at a gala dinner on the 23rd of April. If you have an excess of money and wall space, come and support a great cause (all proceeds go towards a scholarship for an Adelaide Central School of Art student) at a fabulous cocktail evening.
There's a fantastic exhibition on at the Adelaide town hall till the 3rd of April that showcases members from several artist run spaces around the city. Jenna Pippett and I are repping MINT studios, so come check it out!
My three paintings have been installed in their home for the next year in the Arkaba Hotel.
Celloprofane will open on the 25th of September at 5pm.
I'm very excited to have been awarded the inaugural Arkaba Commission in conjunction with the Adelaide Central School of Art. I will be creating a series of 3 large scale paintings using images of cellophane that will hang in the Arkaba hotel for a year before being auctioned off to fund a scholarship at the school.

Exciting developments are a brewin'!
Myself and two other Adelaide artists are currently in the process of setting up our own studio so that we have a base to create work from and space to offer other artists. I'm really looking forward to working in a collaborative environment again.
This also means that I will soon be able to take on private commissions - expressions of interest are welcome through the contact page.
